Our Story

John has been obsessed with dirt for longer than most people have been obsessed with anything.

Over 30 years. Three decades of staring at soil, testing soil, talking about soil to anyone who couldn't run away fast enough. While the rest of the world was chasing the latest miracle fertilizer in a shiny bottle, John was asking a different question: What if we stopped trying to feed the plant and started feeding the soil instead?

Turns out, that question changes everything.

See, most of what people dump on their gardens is designed to force-feed the plant. It's like giving someone a vitamin IV instead of actual food. Sure, it works for a minute. But the soil underneath? It's starving. The microbial life that's supposed to be doing the heavy lifting? Gone. Dead. Just dirt with nothing going on.

John figured that out the hard way. Years of trial and error. Endless composting experiments. More conversations about humic acid than any human should have in one lifetime. He learned that your soil is alive. Or at least, it should be. And if you feed the biology in the ground, the biology feeds your plants better than any bottle ever could.

That's how the three-phase system was born. PREP builds the foundation. BOOST fires up the microbial life. FEED keeps it all humming through the season. Simple concept, decades of work to get right.

So where does CoDee come in?

Here's the thing about life: it doesn't always have a road map, but it somehow always leads you where you need to be. Being a parent to someone else's kids isn't always the most glamorous job, and just like his dirt, John never gives up on the people he cares about. That matters, because this isn't some business arrangement between two guys who met at a conference. This is family.

CoDee grew up watching John tinker with formulas and talk about the gold coming out of a cow's backside. When John first shared his dirt with the world, people were not ready. Just like John, CoDee didn't lose faith, with hopes to build something generational.

When CoDee's not looking for his stapler, or John's misplaced readers, he's helping build something around what John has spent 30+ years perfecting. The website. The systems. The brand. The part where you take a brilliant product that works and make sure people actually know it exists. John's the guy with the dirt under his fingernails. CoDee's the guy making sure the dirt under John's fingernails reaches your garden.

Why We Do This

We're not out here trying to reinvent gardening. Nature already figured it out. Billions of years of biology already built the perfect system for growing things. Somewhere along the way, we just got too clever for our own good and started overcomplicating it.

John spent 30 years learning how to get out of nature's way and let the soil do what it was designed to do. CoDee spent the last few years figuring out how to share that with everyone else.

We're two Idaho guys on a mission to change how people think about dirt. Not with hype. Not with gimmicks. With products that actually work, made from ingredients the earth already knows what to do with.

Your soil is alive. Let's keep it that way.
