Idaho-Made: The Story Behind Soil Rich
It Started in the Garden
Every business has an origin story. Ours started with a simple observation: the best gardens in the Treasure Valley all had one thing in common. Great soil.
Not great seeds, not fancy tools, not expensive greenhouses. The gardeners getting the best results were the ones who invested time and attention into what was underneath their plants.
The Problem with "One Size Fits All"
I tried every soil amendment on the market. Big box store bags of generic fertilizer, expensive specialty blends shipped from across the country, even DIY compost tea recipes from YouTube. Some worked a little. Most didn't work at all.
The problem? They all tried to be everything at once. One bag, one application, done. But soil doesn't work that way.
Building the Three-Phase System
I started experimenting. Working with local composted cow manure (Idaho has no shortage of that), sun-cured alfalfa, humic acid from Leonardite deposits, and bio-char. I tested different combinations, different application timings, different ratios.
After two years of testing, the three-phase system emerged: prime the soil, activate the biology, sustain through the season. PREP, BOOST, FEED.
Made in Idaho, For Idaho
Everything in our products comes from known, quality sources. The composted cow manure is Idaho-raised. The alfalfa is sun-cured locally. We mix and bag everything right here in the Treasure Valley.
We're not a national brand trying to make a product that works everywhere. We're Idaho gardeners making products that work here, in our soil, our climate, our growing season.
